The GalvanicOxygen Cell DN type is a diffusion limited metal/air battery. The oxygen inthe sample diffuses through the barrier and reaches the cathode. Here it isreduced to hydroxyl ions which, in turn, pass through the electrolyte tooxidize the metal anode.
A Current, proportional tothe rate of consumption of oxygen, is generated when the cathode/anode circuitis completed, the Galvanic Oxygen Cell operating in what is virtually ashort-circuit condition.
The cell current of is adirect function of the rate at which oxygen reaches the cathode.

T90 is variable depending on sensor andconcentration and is approximately 3s at % levels and 20s at ppm levels. Theppm figure assumes that the sensor is purged down.
